Radius Gutter Installation GuidelinesTo fit Radius or Straight Grp gutter plan your installation before commencing work. Grp gutter is supplied in approx. 2 metre lengths and should be handled with care to avoid splitting or shattering (CAUTION: this product is much more susceptible to damage & knocks than pvc equivalents). HMRKN1 gutter brackets should be spaced at a maximum of 800 mm apart along each gutter. The gutter can either be used level (due to high flow rate) or to a 1:350 fall on long runs. Ideally space brackets to give an even support along each 2 metre run. To install gutter brackets use at least 2 screws (ideally Zinc & Yellow or long life equivalents) to each support. Ensure all brackets are fitted flush against your fascia board, and either level or with a slight fall as listed above. Fix all 2 metre Grp gutter sections by using Bitumen based mastic* to seal each joint. This should be applied to provide an overspill seal to avoid any possibility of leaks. Ideally apply sufficient to cause a slight overspill as each section is joined. Stop ends and running outlets/unions do not have built in rubber seals, and these should be installed using bitumen based mastic with a slight overspill as above. Running outlets will need to situated above each downpipe, and care should be taken in drilling a hole & then cutting an appropriate aperture for the loose running outlets provided. Ensure a good seal to the outlet flange. Use standard square 68mm downpipes or our HMRDS2 adaptor if a round downpipe is required. Ensure all unions, outlets and stopends are watertight before dropping scaffold. *Most Keyline branches stock Aquamac Bitumen based mastic which is suitable for all joints/unions. We cannot recommend normal silicones as these rely on a surface skin to create a seal; invariably this deteriorates with time & will eventually cause leakage.
