The Orac Basixx polystyrene coving range is ideal for trade installers. The lightweight material offers a beautiful finish which can be quickly installed using our cartridge based adhesives.
Unlike cheap paper coated alternatives the Basixx brand does not soak up paint, and already has an undercoat pre-applied. Just one further coat needs to be applied to finish.

Cost: House Martin Basixx is very cost effective. This polystyrene coving is extremely competitive.
Ready for immediate use: House Martin Basixx coving and cornice is available from stock. Plaster coving and cornice needs to dry before installing which can take up to two weeks. The glues used with House Martin Basixx coving and cornice cures quickly whereas plaster coving and cornice installation takes time to dry before finishing can commence.
Clean: House Martin Basixx coving and cornice only requires glue. Ideal for refurbishment and new build projects. Plaster and gyproc coving and cornice is dirty and messy to install, creating considerable amounts of water waste and dust. Refurbishments using plaster and gyproc coving and cornice can problematic, damaging the existing infrastructure.
Easy to install coving: House Martin Basixx coving and cornice, due to its lightweight, only requires glue and a sharp blade to install. There is no need to support with pinning as with plaster coving and cornice. Plaster and gyproc coving and cornice normally needs two people to install due to its weight, whereas installation of House Martin Basixx coving and cornice can be completed by just one person. Due to its lightweight House Martin Basixx coving and cornice can be installed on to any type of ceiling, including lowered ceilings.
Time saving: House Martin Basixx coving and cornice can be installed much faster and easier. Installing plaster and gyproc coving and cornice is a heavy and difficult job taking time and special skills.
Fast finishing: House Martin Basixx coving and cornice is pre-primed ready for the chosen final coat of paint. House Martin Basixx coving and cornice has a smooth surface and does not absorb paint, so only the final coat is required. Plaster coving and cornice does not come primed and requires sealing and up to three coats of paint. Plaster coving and cornice is difficult to paint well as it does not have a smooth surface.
Shock resistant: House Martin Basixx coving and cornice is shock resistant. Plaster and gyproc coving and cornice is easily broken, chipped and shattered. Extremely relevant in both delivery and installation.
Developing cracks: Orac Decor "Extra Fix" fuses the coving and cornice joints to produce strong joints. Plaster and gyproc coving and cornice joints move through drying and aging resulting in cracks in the coving and cornice lengths and joints. Changes in humidity affect plaster coving and cornice, but not House Martin Basixx coving and cornice.
Suitable in humid environments: House Martin Basixx coving and cornice is impervious to moisture. Plaster and gyproc coving and cornice can take in moisture and so is not suitable for humid and exterior environments.
