Column and Pilaster Components

Orac Column and Pilaster Components House Martin offers a variety of decorative doorway solutions which are listed on our column pages. We can, however, offer the individual components, which may be beneficial where shop fitting or refurbishments are being undertaken.

In some instances our customers have an existing wooden pilaster which has rotted at the base from years of exposure to rain. The man made base of an Orac pilaster can allow a cost effective repair, which can then be decorated to match the timber elements above.

You may also choose to use some smaller elements when trying to mimic window surrounds of older buildings. If you have any specific requests we are happy to view photos of neighbouring or similar buildings and make suggestions which may re-create your desired effect.

When selecting these individual components take care to select the right adhesives for the job. Choose DecoFix Pro for fixing column components indoors, against walls, floor & ceilings. Join any segments together with Extra Fix. Choose Hydro adhesive when fixing components to walls or concrete outside, whilst joining individual components with Extra Fix. Always use Extra Fix to join half columns together, whether installed inside or out.

Remember that you can reduce height if necessary by cutting the plinth, or shaft. We advise customers to avoid trimming capitals, as these form the crowning classical style, Doric, Ionic, or Corinthian.
