Quoins
Quoins were originally exposed cut stone details seen on the
external corners of large homes and public buildings. Today many buildings replicate this classic detail, but use lightweight easily installed alternatives which
give the same appearance, but with out the health and safety issues associated with heavy cast stone alternatives.
We offer three popular designs, our popular HM5 Quoins are best suited to Park Homes, and the Mobile Home market. Our photos show the HM5s used locally in Chudleigh, and Bovey Tracey.
The quoins (sometime misspelt as "coins") are effectively a lightweight glassfibre moulding from real textured sandstone blocks. These products are
colour fast and weather resistant, but should be wiped down with a damp cloth once a year to remove any grime.
Each HM5 moulding is 8 feet high (2.4 metres) and can be attached to new Park Homes via 6 countersunk screws (not supplied). These are fixed through the GRP flange which is then hidden when the park home walls are rendered into each "ladder recess". Customers looking to use our HM5 Quoins on refurbishments may wish to trim off the flange and screw the moulding directly through the "Stone Effect" quoin and disguise the fixings with a colour matched silicone (by others).
Additional height on Park Home quoins can be created by trimming a separate section and adding it to the base moulding.
Popular colours are Sandstone (a buff yellowy colour as shown), white or cement grey. These are usually available at short notice, alternatively you can choose non standard colours subject to a 4 week call-off and £25.00 supplement.
We also provide a large selection of decorative window shutters in a wide range of sizes and colours to enhance your park home.
